Not enough information out about the film yet to know where it stands Biblically, but what a missed opportunity for Paramount if they changed the basic root cause of the flood – (Mankind as a whole’s degradation into a pattern of irreversible sin) to something more politically correct (man’s disrespect against nature) as the article suggests.
“We gave participants a strong contextual understanding, and many found that the point-of-view the film seems to take is significantly different than what is in the Bible,” Faith Driven Consumer founder Chris Stone told FOX411, adding that his intention was not to tell Hollywood what type of film they should or shouldn’t make. “98 percent indicated this did not meet their needs. This doesn’t mean they’re mad at the film, it just doesn’t appeal to them.”
This is one of those films that I want to like. Russell Crowe as Noah, in my mind at least, is an awesome choice. I will give it the benefit of the doubt, but like the quote above says, if it doesn’t stay true to the actual account I will have little desire to go see it.
